This is a fascinating video from the 2007 TED Talks by Michael Pollan. The really interesting stuff is near the end, where he describes how a farmer uses several different species in concert to make his farm more productive by giving each species what it really wants.
I don’t want to say too much here in the caption, but Pollan has an interesting perspective on nature and man’s place in it, one that can lead to ways for us to take what we need from nature without ruining it in the process.
