Podcastle is a brand-new podcast that features the best in short-form fantasy literature.
The show is produced by the same folks who make the previously-mentioned Escape Pod, which had been receiving criticism for playing either too much science fiction and not enough fantasy (or vice versa, depending on the critic).
The solution was to spin off the fantasy stories into a separate podcast: Science fiction fans can find their stories at Escape Pod, fantasy fans can go to PodCastle, and those who like both suddenly have twice as many stories to enjoy.
And, so far, I’m really enjoying PodCastle. Their first story, Come Lady Death, is read by Paul S. Jenkins, whose voice is the perfect fit for a story about inviting Death to a dinner party in London.
Everything I’ve heard from Escape Artists, Inc. has been of the highest quality, and I’m very glad to see them expanding into new podcasts.
(Note: Although I have not listened to it, you may also be interested in Escape Artist, Inc.’s horror podcast, Pseudopod.)
