This is amazing: Google has scanned a bunch of magazines, run OCR software on them, and made them searchable. You can now browse and search back issues of magazines from Popular Science to New York Magazine to Ebony. The back issues are extensive; here’s an 1872 Popular Science article, “On The Artificial Production of Stupidity in Schools.” They even have a map with pins in it...
